This commentary will focus on the Set 1 questions, the version taken by most students.
The mean scores were highest on Q4, the argumentative essay in which students utilized foundational documents like the First Amendment, Federalist No. 10, and/or “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” to develop and support their argument about participatory democracy.
Students who earned all 6/6 points possible on their essays are typically receiving AP 5s this year.
The SCOTUS question, Q3, on Wickard V. Filburn (1942) and United States v. Lopez (1995) was the single best question on this year’s exam, psychometrically speaking, because it contained an effective mix of difficulty across parts A, B, and C for measuring a range of knowledge and skill levels among the hundreds of thousands of students who took this version. Generally, if a student is able to answer all parts of this question well, they’re on track for a 5.

Just finished a book from the essential readers list. But it’s not giving me to bookmark for it. 😟 Tried a few times to mark it read but no luck @goodreads
Was a great day welcoming @RepRobinKelly into my classroom! All the students were engaged as she discussed her role as a legislator, influences on her decisions in Congress, and ways in which the youth can get involved politically.
Hear teachers are moving to Bluesky. I just created an account and plan on putting resources up over there. Feel free to follow or put your handle below and I’ll follow you!

@ZelenskyyUa Really sorry for our “President” disrespecting YOU for his benefit. The views of this Pres. do not reflect the American people. We admire you and stand by you! And understand the history of Russia breaking deals with you and your country. Can’t be trusted.
Can’t make this up. In @WaltDisneyWorld on honeymoon. Man got separated from his family walking into a show, husband turned and said “go ahead sir.” To which the man replied “I will clock you.” Really? Over Country Bear Jamboree? No clocking was committed. Be kind people.
@WaltDisneyWorld Your Minnie in Hollywood Studios today truly made our day! She acknowledged our Happily Ever After pins and gave me the business when I told her I forgot the ring. Then starting joking about it with my husband. Was so awesome! We can’t stop talking about it!
Walk into tech lab. See a student on a computer looking at a US map with red, blue, and yellow…
Me: what are you looking at?
Student: Electoral College Predictions!
Me: you just melted my heart!
Student: Yea! And I understand it because of you!
Day made. 💕
@technologylaura If teaching same classes as years prior, probably don’t necessarily have to. I might here and there to catch up on grading. I teach a new AP class this year so I have to work over weekend or kids would not have lessons ready on Monday.
@EDUwithEmily Yes but because it makes the week a lot easier and reduces my anxiety to get things done. It’s exhausting because I also work a second a job and today was my only day off but I’ll feel better prepared and less scramble in the morning.
Last day of Spirit Week- what a wild ride it’s been! Each year got a different color and the staff got yellow. Some of us decided to do it big- what’s adorable and yellow? Minions!!
