WLN leaders value a participatory democracy and the public lands that sustain community health, local budgets, and countless livelihoods. That’s why 150+ local, tribal, and state electeds are against weakening the @BLMNational Oil & Gas Rule. Letter: https://t.co/TQz0B1pWRI
Today in Denver, I hosted community leaders on the frontlines of environmental justice — leaders I’m working with to protect our environment from big oil, corporate polluters, and an administration that ignores science. Their stories drive my work in Congress to ensure the health and safety of Colorado families.
THANK YOU @SenAdamSchiff for standing up for our communities + public health by fighting to stop the delay for urgently-needed, common-sense methane standards. While last week's vote failed, the fight to #CutMethane continues!
2/ I shared about the obstacles to public engagement, including the time I flew to Virginia in 2023 solely to make public comment, the value of the lived experience of residents impacted by pipelines, and the need to prioritize public health & safety for all pipelines.
1/ Today, I had the honor of speaking on a panel at the Pipeline Safety Trust Annual Conference in New Orleans to discuss public engagement with the Gas Pipeline & Liquid Advisory Committees (GPAC/LPAC) alongside Alan Mayberry, former director of PHMSA, & former committee members
Today AQCC approved new rules requiring operators to eliminate methane-emitting pneumatic devices at o&g sites across CO. The rule improves air quality & makes CO the 1st state to comply with req's of the Federal Methane Rule–setting the stage for others to follow:

Colorado has the opportunity to #CutMethane pollution ahead of @EPA's deadline, making the air safer for our children to breathe. As Laurie Anderson writes in @colo_politics, Colorado has already proven itself a leader on reducing methane emissions. It shouldn't stop now.
Colorado has long been a leader in policies that limit the impacts of oil & gas methane — a climate "super pollutant." Now we have a unique opportunity to use our experience and expand our leadership by implementing the EPA Methane Rule.

I’m telling #MyMethaneStory because we need swift action from @PHMSA_DOT to plug dangerous pipeline leaks and #CutMethane to protect our families. @SecretaryPete our health & climate are on the line: https://t.co/7KeoQ6CYEs
The "GHG Intensity Verification Protocol takes the guesswork out of emissions estimates by establishing guidelines for real-world measurements," said @MsLauriAnderson of @CleanAirMoms.

This Mother’s Day, I fight for clean air and a healthy environment because our kids are counting on us! Too many kids in CO live in an ozone nonattainment area so we need to reduce pollution now rather than handing this problem down to the next generation to solve. @CleanAirMoms
For years, Colorado has been a leader in reducing methane emissions and the harmful co-pollutants that are an inevitable part of oil and gas development, yet Colorado families continued to be adversely impacted because we lacked accurate emissions data.
"As the Mayor of Broomfield, I believe a top priority is ensuring the health and safety of my constituents. Broomfield residents are impacted by many high ozone days in which the air is unhealthy to breathe, so we must do everything we can to reduce pollutants - including ozone precursors. Therefore, I urge the @EPA to finalize strong rules that help protect our health and our climate," says Mayor Guyleen Castriotta.

Climate activist and Oscar-winning actress @Janefonda delivered a message this morning to the people who live in north Denver and Commerce City after she received a tour of the area.
“We will fight with you,” she said.
