Students past and present: I am so proud or your ability to pivot in these very distinct times of learning. Your autonomy and resiliency will serve you well. I hope you have a great break.
Happy "Easy Bake Oven" 5th birthday to my "baby", Sloane. "I'll like you forever. I'll love you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be." -RM
A huge Thank You to former student Teresa James for choosing to clean up the Kennedy courtyard and replace several of the benches for her Eagle Scout project. It looks great!!
This year my birthday wish is a call for kindness. We can’t just hope for a brighter day, we have to work for a brighter day. Love too often gets buried in a world of hurt and fear. So today, January 19th, let’s get to unearthing love ❤️ https://t.co/CTShxNkbRq
Today was remote Wednesday. Tomorrow, we are going to try something new. Cohort A will log in from home while Cohort B is in person. My own boys have been doing this since September and I am excited to try this experiment until the break.
Whoever says math isn’t fun needs to visit Team 8-2 @KMSWoburn - we disagree! Learning about proportional relationships by speed walking, which turned into waddling, strutting, & sprinting. Now we have our own data to use instead of something from a book/website. Love these kids!
Adding more content, more assignments, and more meetings will not enable us to create something better if we don’t pause and focus on what matters most.
Wrapping up Realistic Fiction this week and moving on to a Narrative On Demand Writing Post Assessment and a Reading Pre-Assessment next week. Google forms quiz on Ch. 11-14 of "96 Miles" due on Friday too. A Team 7-1 "Your Best Sentence" Story is also one the way!
The Kennedy is the best! Pumpkin drop is over 10 years now! TY!@TheMrMasotta for tossing pumpkins every year! Huge thank you to @MsDiPersio for doing it with me and tolerating my madness year after year!! Thank you to students and colleagues who work so hard! I ❤️ my job!
Break out rooms in google meet across cohorts to peer edit realistic fiction drafts in class (continued from Remote Wednesday). Fun fact: 1/2 the staff showed up where the same Kennedy sweatshirt today! ❤️❤️❤️
@MrsIronfield I saw several cameos of the novel! I loved watching this and it reminded me that I kind of miss STEM Week! Hope we get to do it next year. Love the super fancy picture dominoes too!
As a parent and a teacher, I see our kids pivoting in the "new normal" world. They are being educated in imperfect environments and are still finding ways to learn. I could not be more proud of them. Thank you for your flexibility.
