DEEP corruption in California EXPOSED AGAIN! California AG Rob Bonta, while still in the Assembly, steered $517,500 in donor cash to nonprofits that employed his wife.

CalMatters documented those 2014–2016 behested payments from Google, PG&E, and others to Bring Me a Book and Literacy Lab. Mia Bonta worked there before taking over Oakland Promise.

Literacy Lab’s 2018 IRS return listed her compensation at $142,866. Critics later said she drew about $160,000 from Oakland Promise while the charity’s tax-exempt paperwork was a mess.

His own foundation also sent $25,000 to Literacy Lab. His campaign account sent about $21,000 more. He obtained letters saying the money would not pay her salary.
