Andy Burnham says the public finances are “challenging” and refuses to rule out further tax rises.

But Britain does not have a shortage-of-taxpayer problem.

It has a government that finds it easier to raise more from workers, savers and employers than to confront waste, weak productivity, sprawling bureaucracy and programmes that fail to deliver.

The cost-of-living crisis is a cost-of-government crisis.

When Andy Burnham came in, I said that i worried he was a much better salesman, a much nicer man to push forward the same agenda: a Big-State, controlling entity guiding us into the inescapable digital cage in which money is pushed upwards and we plebs must be grateful of being "kept safe."

This app to "protect you" from cowboy builders is merely surveillance dressed up as benevolence.

It will require ALL the details of your build: address, list of works, photos, payments etc etc...a great way to check on you and how much your house is worth.

Just imagine the outcry if Starmer had suggested this nervously from a podium!!
