People who don't believe you deserve rights will never be convinced into giving you power. Your level of performance means absolutely nothing to people who fundamentally think that some are destined to rule, and others destined to serve by birthright.
@jason_a_scott@GoogleStartups Thanks for clarifying. The way the accelerator requirement language is written, however, does not make it seem like a guide, but rather a minimum that must be met to apply.
I think in fact it may be deterring many Women & Black founders by making them think they aren't eligible.
Because of this...I don't understand why @GoogleStartups who just released the application to its accelerator, set the MINIMUM employees for Women-led startups at 5 employees & at 10 employees for Black-led startups?!
Would have loved to be a fly on the wall when that was decided
1/4 - "The median seed round raised by Black women founders is $125,000 and the median seed round raised by Latinx women founders is $200,000. As of 2020, the national median seed round funding for a startup is $2.5M, according to ProjectDiane." - @Forbes
@sabakarimm Open them up to community-based organizations and/or nonprofits to run programs for kids, young people, seniors, small business owners, etc. They are always in need of safe, and fully equipped spaces to run events, seminars, informational sessions, etc.
"We're an early-stage investor" seems to mean everything from investing at the idea stage to you must be doing a minimum of $10K in revenue per month...👀
It's weird out here.
On behalf of the entire Bridge 2 Technologies team, I am thrilled to share that our Global Intellect Summit in New York at the Nasdaq in Times Square was a success! Thank you to the incredible executives and thought leaders who attended!

Wish VCs and LPs were more transparent in their investment decision processes, most don’t share thresholds/requirements/focus/mandates to early stage founders and fund managers, voices like @dunkhippo33@DelJohnsonVC needs to be elevated for any systemic change
