✨ Wrapping up the year with a reflection slide activity and seeking advice they'd offer to my future students. Plan to incorporate these insights on the first day of next year. I've done something similar before, and I love to see what they say. https://t.co/TaRnKfwRqe
A heart-breaking moment saved in an SS picture of deportations of Hungarian Jews at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. It was taken 79 years ago, most likely in late May 1944.
A little child found a dandelion in the grass and is handing it or showing it to an older boy. All the people in this picture were waiting to be killed in gas chamber. They were murdered some time later.

I did a huge book tasting for WW2- students went to different tables and reflected on scanning many books full of stories with representation. A student rightfully called me out on my lack of LGBT books. I am now buying these. Other recommendations for LGBTQIA+ in WW2? I LOVE this generation - the kids are alright!
🧵If, like me, you have been struggling to curate authentic historical research in the secondary #socialstudies#classroom, try this graphic organizer! Ss isolate an important quote from a source and break it down into notes according to their ability. @RebekahODell1 #sschat 1/3
Thanks @shanshab10 I adapted your #8pARTS template for this project on WWI spies. https://t.co/DEwjMCncZJ Culminating task will be a four minute 1st person audio story. #EduProtocols#sschat https://t.co/rXe5L0o7iG
Students collaborated to create algorithms to code a route for their @iRobot to visit the US territories acquired during the Spanish American War. @LCPS_Mercer @csforlcps@SSGSlcps@cjacksonlcps
Another interactive activity for my Social 20 class. As we study WWI, each student will be assigned a person to tell their story. Studying primary documents to predict their role and fate in the war. #iteachsocialstudies#engagedlearners#whyiteach
