The GOP will reject any offer that Dems make; they have done it before. The goal is not to reach bipartisan agreement, it's to block Dems from making any meaningful legislative accomplishments. @SenSchumer thanks for pushing forward. It's time to live our values.
As you watch today’s ceremonies, keep this in mind—
This country owes an ENORMOUS debt of gratitude to Black women and the Black community for restoring dignity to this country.
They were a tremendous backbone that drove the vote and got Biden and Harris elected.
@VennMultiverse Wwoooowwwwww look at this at this absolute stain of a human being. So eager to break everything that he can't even wait a day. I hope he loses everything.
This is the real threat. Other extremist groups and cults can now absorb newly adrift, already radicalized people.
It’s already happening with neo-Nazis and white supremacists on Telegram, who are explicitly targeting disaffected Q follwers today using prewritten scripts.
Lots of anger in the QAnon group chats, with many people saying they want to throw up as they realize the mass arrests won't happen. If you or someone close to you is reconsidering QAnon after today, my DMs / email (will.sommer at https://t.co/TcGexoOgeZ) are open.
Basically Trump is looking to split the Republican vote and by all means go full speed ahead. This is the exact stuff they tried to sabotage Dems with, with the Dem Exit crap. The primary GOP strength is that they'll hold their nose and vote by party. PLEASE DO tempt fate. :)
Soooooo The Patriot Party.
There will ABSOLUTELY be Republicans who will jump ship for this party.
But there will also be a LOT of Republicans who will "vote red until they're dead" (I think I made that up) & will be relieved to have an option that is not a Trump supporter.
For 4 years I have wanted to use a "Shut the fuck up, Donnie" GIF from the Big Lebowski but social media bigwigs have banned them :( I mean I guess I understand. But still. I am denied my Buscemi.
So hey. Phil Spector was a white producer who made some innovative albums and ultimately did not help the Black talent he worked with achieve stardom, got away with domestic abuse, and finally went to jail for murder.
Frame it that way. The squandered talent, the criminal end.
Those songs didn't speak to us so Tupac was just a Black gangsta who died because of "black-on-black violence" or whatever we want to say. But Phil Spector gets away with decades of abuse, FINALLY goes to jail after killing a white woman, dies, and is given a hero's obituary (9/)
