Prisons don’t provide incarcerated Deaf people with ASL interpreters. They suffer as a result.

In a DC jail, a Deaf man didn't eat for 2 weeks because he couldn't hear the announcements to eat. He spent over 2 months in jail over an iPad he never stole, and the witness recanted.

Ofsted inspectors telling EY teachers that their planning isn’t detailed enough because they don’t write down all the vocabulary that they’re going to teach is really not ok. I’ve now heard of several cases where when the teacher says they teach vocabulary the inspector has said

@SwailesRuth Where would they possibly find the time to actually teach and develop the children, let alone preserve their own wellbeing/growth, when up against these conditions? Incredible. This makes me want to send flowers to our old EY teachers.
