Long-term empty homes in London rose 23% last year - up 138% in a decade. Here's why: a business model based on serving overseas investors #BuyToLeave or #BuyToAirBnB not meeting the need for affordable homes for Londoners - a decade of building #TheWrongHousing - over 100k empty
Looks like a bunch of Charles Anderson's murals are about to be destroyed in the next few days and there's nothing - apparently - that can be done about it. Demolition at Hector McNeil House has begun (pic: Scotland in Frame, FB)
Powerful portrayal in Channel 4s #DirtyBusiness by Asim Chaudhry @AsimC86 representing the many water company staff at the sharp end, doing their best and taking the flak while the bosses behind the dirty business scandal take the obscene payouts.

While you're sitting at home watching #DirtyBusiness tonight, we want to remind you that this is happening across the country. Right now.
This is not a historical issue, it's an ongoing issue.
"TV tonight: a furious drama about water companies dumping raw sewage."
"It will have the nation furiously demanding answers." And a govt that doesn't have any.

WAVERLEY SAILS TO GREENOCK - Winter Refit update 16/2/26
This morning Waverley departed Glasgow for her very first sailing down the River Clyde for 2026.
Waverley then sailed past Greenock and turned at The Tail of the Bank before berthing at Custom House Quay.
We are extremely grateful to Clyde Marine Services Ltd who provided two of their tugs (CMS Boxer & CMS Wrestler) to carefully move Waverley from Custom House Quay to the James Watt Dock.
The steamer is expected to remain in the James Watt Dock for the next month before then moving into dry dock. During this time the masts will be removed and work will begin on replacing the Dining Saloon windows. Both of these works are possible thanks to everyone that has donated to the Masts & Windows Winter Appeal.
The main task over the next few weeks will be stripping out the old copper pipe work for the fire sprinkler system and then installing new stainless steel pipes through the whole ship. In preparation for this extensive work all the ship’s furniture has been removed given deck heads in both the Dining Saloon and Jeanie Deans Lounge will be removed to allow access to pipe work. Once in dry dock the side of the ship will be opened up under the waterline to remove further equipment and install new.
Check out these images showing Waverley’s journey from Glasgow to the James Watt Dock on Monday 16th February.
Question - is anyone able to confirm the last time Waverley sailed under her own steam during the month of February? We think it may have been sometime last century!
Thanks are due to those crew members on Waverley and on the tugs as well as Stephen Lipton who provided some of the images in this post.
The Masts & Windows Winter Appeal remains open to help fund replacing both of the ship’s masts and all but one of the Dining Saloon windows.
If you would like to donate to the Appeal then please visit https://t.co/oEIHuUDzF3 or call our office on 0141 243 2224.

Hard to believe it’s been 59 years since The Monkees first aired on September 12, 1966. We were just four kids with guitars and energy, and the world watched us. Grateful for the memories and your support in keeping our spirit alive. Here’s to more!
