October’s employee of the month is one of our lovely Sister’s - Katie 🎉❤️ Katie keeps morale high on the ward, especially with her singing and dancing which never goes unappreciated 💃🏻
I don’t know why this doesn’t get discussed enough but three days bereavement leave in the UK is absolutely diabolical.
If that’s your parent or sibling you are going to be unable to focus at work or anything in life for months
I am officially cancer free! 🎉🙌🏿♥️
On Wednesday 3rd May 2023, I was diagnosed with Blood Cancer (non-Hodgkin lymphoma), a high-grade, fast-growing aggressive tumour.
After 6 rounds of chemotherapy and various complications, I can say God has done it!! I am CANCER FREE BABY!!🥹

@molllyOT I initially really struggled with MH as I’d always been in physical health, but afterwards especially now I’m working in acute medicine again, I really miss how clear the OT role was there! I loved doing kitchen and community ax’s. I find it’s so much harder being in rehab now!
I’m saluting @XNgulube and @melissa_chieza 💚
Never met these lovely ladies but they’ve been so supportive of me and my OT journey. Could not have made it through my degree without them 🥲

I always say to patients, if you need an OT just look for the green trousers! Something I learnt on my first placement and it can be so helpful for professional identity, especially in integrated settings. This seems like a shame to me!

Still sinking in that I’m coming to the end of my degree. What a journey it’s been! These have been the hardest 3 years of my life but I’m so so proud to be done! Lost two grandparents during this degree and honestly this is for them. Hope I’ve made you proud 🫶🏾💚
@BillWongOT With the affiliate groups such as bameot & albeot, there’s deffo more space for advocacy as students, just need to focus on attracting more of the students to these avenues I suppose
@BillWongOT There’s a study about students and using social media as a cpd and networking tool in OT, quite a few students agreed it was beneficial and the study concluded it sm training needed to be included in more pre reg courses!
