@MrsGearyRBMS A3: I immediately think of @RBMSAVID strategies! Socratic Seminars, Cornell Notes, Reciprocal Teaching, Philosophical Chairs... so many opportunities to authentically engage our Ss!
@MsDenglerRBPS@MrsGearyRBMS I always find that literature is a great springboard to lead into what might be "tougher subjects"! We have such great texts to use as resources.
@MrsGearyRBMS A5: A crucial step is to educate ourselves about social issues that may affect our students and the community. It is also important to cultivate Ss' ability to think critically and analyze sources (especially when it comes to digital media).
@MrsGearyRBMS@MelissaRestivo4@MrsGirardiRBPS@KateRBPS@MsFoster_RBPS@CherylCuddihy @DreamBigRB @RedBankSup A4: As a special educator, this is something I often wrestled with. Are certain groups overrepresented in these specific groups, such as RTI and special ed.? If so, do we need to see how our Tier 1 methods are meeting ALL students' needs and harnessing their strengths?
@MrsGearyRBMS@MelissaRestivo4@MrsGirardiRBPS@KateRBPS @ms_dengler @MsFoster_RBPS@CherylCuddihy A1 So many resonated with practices I see daily in RBB. The importance of reading and writing diverse genres and authors speaks to the work done in RW and WW across grades and the efforts of teachers to include diverse authors and characters in the reading lives of our Ss.
I work at a NJ-based nonprofit and have created a system called @HelplineSOS that has been helping charitable clinics across the US set appointments for testing and the vaccine. The system has done over 75k+ call backs. We can help in NJ, please have someone contact us @GovMurphy
Come one, come all! π’ We hope that you will join us in having some fun and spreading some cheer in RBMS' Virtual Holiday Spirit Days! βοΈπππ» @rbmsROCKETS@RedBankSup @DreamBigRB
