Iβve decided to deactivate my teacher Twitter. Iβm going to post exclusively on Threads because I just canβt stomach what I am seeing here. If you are on Threads, follow me and our garden updates at @mswelshnghs
A gorgeous afternoon for @NorthGrandHS Garden club. We harvested tomatoes and chilies galore! Our lovely squash, tomatillos, and radishes are thriving, and we found surprise huitlacoche on our corn!
@NorthGrandHS Garden Club has been hard at work planting a native garden, traditional dye plants, fruit trees, and vegetables. We have also moved a lot of mulch.

The @NorthGrandHS community has been a tremendous support on our garden venture. Parents and community members have donated time, a peach tree, and seeds. Our Saturday @CAPEChicago community garden club is thriving.
@NorthGrandHS garden has gone through quite the transformation in the last year. Vegetable, herbs, and even fruits are thriving in the space students have created. #studentcentered#urbangarden

My co-teacher, Ms. Chapa, is amazing for many reasons, but this act of nonjudgmental love was an absolute gift to me. I have a super busy week and did not have time to clear off my desk, so she & two of our students took a moment and did it for me. #coteaching#wepa#2brains1mind
One of my all-time favorite days of the school year is when @TimeLineTheatre actors visit and perform scenes with students. Thank you Tim Decker and Kenneth D. Johnson for visiting. #TroubleInMind

Carl the Caterpillar is now Carl the Chrysalis! We also have a new @NorthGrandHS Garden Club buddy - Kenny the Cabbage Moth (not really a friend of the garden), but students rule Garden Club, soβ¦ weβre keeping him.
