Strand me in LA, @westjet, and see how quickly I never book with you again.
Pay. Your. People.
I don't care if the offer you already made would make them the highest paid. Clearly you've been under paying them for YEARS.
Maybe look at reducing executive compensation instead.
Hey @WestJet. We are supposed to be flying with my kids for their first flight tomorrow afternoon. They’ve been looking forward to this for months. We’re going to scatter my grandmothers ashes. Is ruining memories, all this bad press, really worth it? Just negotiate!
We’re so proud of Luke for sharing his truth. We believe in inclusion and the freedom to be yourself, and remain committed to supporting and uplifting the LGBTQ2S+ community.

As many of you know our dear friend Theodore Fontaine passed away last week. We know Theodore would want us to continue carrying his testimony, sharing his wisdom & acting on his vision for change. Let us honour Theodore's memory and his legacy together.

So if the #ontariolockdown is just the whole province moving to the grey zone (with schools remaining open) doesn’t that mean that nothing is changing in the hotspots where like 80% of new cases are coming from, but the regions with manageable numbers will face new restrictions?
Resource 3 #fairness4everyone Systemic racism excuses colonial inhumanity by dehumanizing First Nations peoples. Some excuse residential schools by saying "people back then didn't know" or "know better." Repeated newspaper reports & gov't records show people knew & knew better.
🧠AS A BOTH A TEACHER AND A COVID-19 BIOSTATISTICIAN, I GET THIS A LOT:
🙋What are your thoughts on returning to school in September?
At the risk of upsetting some, or maybe many, here’s my answer. Fully guided by the mantra:
⭐️NO ONE WINS, but NO ONE DIES⭐️
...1/16 ⤵️⤵️
A problem long before Covid: the people who make the decisions about how public school classrooms should run haven’t been in one this century and assume that they haven’t changed. Imagine if the next iPhone was designed by someone who hadn’t used a cellphone since the 80s. #onted
@kimmieM1973 @HammerTime_11@Pippi505@barnboarddesign@metromorning I truly hope you advocated as strongly when ford gave his cabinet 14% raises, fire and police large raises, and created random high paid positions for his friends... all with “your money”.
Hey @metromorning I wanted to address the woman who said teachers are entitled- the only entitlement I feel is the entitlement that our students deserve to be in classes where they can succeed. You are speaking from a place of privilege! (1)
@Pippi505@barnboarddesign@metromorning That doesn’t happen without plenty of class choices and small classes where skills can be explicitly taught and modelled. We all have the same goal in mind. We read the research, and do the training so we can help your children be successful. That’s why we advocate so strongly.
@Pippi505@barnboarddesign@metromorning We also want your kids to be ready. That is our goal. But study after study after study has shown that does not happen in large class sizes. Employers are looking for well rounded highly skilled people, regardless of the stream they come from. (1)
Let’s be completely clear:
An “opt out” of mandatory online courses is ABSURD.
👉 Ford’s forcing parents to jump through hoops rather than just admit he messed up.
⁉️Why won’t he back away from this terrible plan?
💰Someone, somewhere has a stake in it.

I asked Education Minister @Sflecce twice to put a dollar figure on his moves on high school class sizes and e-learning opt-out. Both times, he didn’t answer. (He has frequently put $ figures on the teachers unions’ asks.) onpoli #onted.
This is bad faith bargaining. Releasing specific clauses/offers contained in a pass, without seeing the entire proposal &the trade offs proposed to achieve them is a misuse of the process & is designed to undermine collective bargaining. More half truths from @Sflecce
@barnboarddesign@Pippi505@metromorning And the indignation when they are shown to be wrong, still refusing to accept it. Capitalism at its finest- vilifying teachers while corporations and the rich can exploit whatever they want and they’re still praised.
@JBradshaw01 It’s so true! The public really has no idea overall what happens in our classes. They take their view of what they see and generalize it for everyone. It’s getting so hard to keep fighting for our students when we’re so vilified by a public that has no idea what we actually do.
