@mrmendelson@sage_stage No one is saying to go back to everything old school…but this new way of doing things also is not working. No one is saying children are the problem…it’s systemic. We cannot continue this current system that only seems to benefit the admin and above!
@mrmendelson@sage_stage Wrong…most teachers believe this…the admin actually make it nearly impossible to fail by holding teachers accountable for the failures…not the students! This places undue burden on teachers who decide it’s easier to let them pass…
@sage_stage Admin wants higher passing rates because the higher ups demand better passing rates…and they try to determine the easiest way to obtain higher passing rates…is by lowering the bar…and achieves the objective the bossman wants…but is it best for students???
@sage_stage Dealing with the unmotivated students…I just kept saying ”expect more from yourself” . Not sure the slogan worked…but made them reflect a little about their actions…
@JackieNieukirk@TeachMrReed When will it be more common to say…”Leadership is about building relationships” too. This is the type of nitpicking stuff that makes evaluations difficult to stomach at times.
@Teachers__Unite The wording of the question assigns blame…and the new paradigm is to not suspend…so they can not be the child’s fault! Once again further eroding the support teachers receive from admin.
@heymrsbond Any teacher subject to this is akin to harassment…and they should resign en masse. The job is hard enough without admin finding make work projects!
