Photosynthesis Punch Lab! Biologists gathered data on the rate of photosynthesis in hole punches of spinach leaves when saturated with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) solution and exposed to bright light. Oxygen, the product of photosynthesis, caused the leaves to float again.
