@SLT_carbs I do about 70-80mins travelling from SW London to SE London. Like others have said, about an hr is standard in London but it does get tiring
Trying to return some items @asos slightly late (I was away from home) & offered to return the goods at my own cost & get a credit note/ gift card. Was told I could send the items bk but might not get the refund. I feel this is unfair, can you help?
@SLT_Francesca They are an integral part of my assessment 'toolbox'. I find them helpful in advising college staff (ALD setting) about what types of questions our students can access- I don't think staff realise how many 'why' questions they ask on a daily basis.
Many thanks @Uni_of_Essex for such a shambolic graduation booking system, which means that I cannot go to my OWN graduation ceremony with the rest of my peers after waiting 2 years for the privilege. Bravo!π
@PaulChapman09 @rgriffinskill@HealthCareersUK@WeAHPs@BeverleyHarden @NHS_HealthEdEng @NHSEmployers@NHSProviders Started with a degree in languages then worked in sales support for 7 years> customer service manager > MSc in speech & Language Therapy- now a Band 5 NQP SLT working with adults with LD π
#mySLTday - So, I was part of a Yr9 careers day in N. London yesterday. Did I bring anyone over to the dark sideπ? I'm honestly not sure but it's one way of promoting the profession to people who may have never heard of SLT (almost none of them had). /1
The feedback from the school was very much welcomed though, even if my table sign had a spelling mistake (does it make me a bad SLT that I didn't initially notice?π€¨π₯΄) /3
We need more people to know what we do if we are ever going to get more people and more diversity within speech and language therapy. What else can we do to promote ourselves/ the profession? /2
Weβve got a fabulous group together at the @RCSLT London office (including @BrollJudith and @RCSLTpolicy) for our working group on careers promotion! To get involved in our careers and diversity work, contact Padraigin at padraigin.oflynn [at] rcslt [dot] org.
@FJaneStokes1 @comm_ntherapy@Xander@SpeechGuys@talkingoutcomes So true Jane! This is why the RCSLT has a working group focusing on both promoting the profession and diversity within it. This is something we must tackle as a profession.
Thank you to the wonderful SLT staff @ Korle Bu Hospital for allowing me to tag along on Monday. It was wonderful to see some of the amazing recent graduates and the current crop of SLT students. Here's hoping for many more SLTs in Ghana in the coming years!π @SLT_GH#MySLTday
Massive thanks to @maryamoah01 for facilitating both myself & Joana Akrofi to inform π¬ππ¬ππ¬π of the role of both SLTs & OTs in working with children with special needs. Yes they have challenges but that doesn't mean they cannot be helped to reach their full potential! #mySLTday
