@Kryptotajeer In Islam a rapist who believes Mohammad is a prophet and follows Islam’s rituals will go to heaven. If a good, charitable man does not recognize Mohammad as a prophet and follow Islam’s rituals he will go to hell. Very similar, except one believes in Jesus, one believes Mohammad
@TaymiApologia Sorry, but it’s the same rules for all. Every religion is based on faith, that is to say, believing. Once you believe something no amount of evidence, rationality, arguments can change your belief. It’s the same for us all. What you choose to believe reveals who you are inside
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 God’s word has been preserved. If that makes me a fundamentalist so be it. We have been around since the time of Jesus and will abide until He returns. Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. -Jesus
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 Read the gospel in any language and believe it. It’s just that easy. It is a spiritual matter and requires spiritual discernment, not analytics. Faith in God and believing His word saves a soul from hell.
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 Not all scholars believe that. We don’t all believe in textual criticism. The gospel has been preserved. Any language, written or oral, if you believe it you will be saved. Satan cannot remove the gospel from this world so he tries to make us doubt God’s word instead.
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 To add to that, scripture is about the spiritual world, which man cannot see, and about the Will and knowledge of God, which God must both reveal, and also interpret/impart the understanding of. God himself must both explain, and open an individual’s understanding.
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 In this case people’s prejudices prevent an unbiased presentation. You must look at the primary source yourself. Plus, no generation will have the overall picture understood perfectly because a lot of scripture is future, not past, therefore faith trumps. By faith ye are saved
@Ali10Amer Love to you, hope I do not bother you too much. I will say He now reigns as King over many Jews and many Gentiles in their heart (“my kingdom is not of this world”), and He will reign as King over all the Jews and over all the Earth at the appointed time. Maranatha
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 Jesus did speak Aramaic but when it came time to write and distribute the words, God chose Greek, and from there it has been translated into countless others. Anyone who hears and believes is saved. It’s believing the gospel (any language/oral/written) that save a soul from hell
@Ali10Amer There are individual Jewish believers. And He will reign as King of the Jews for ever so you really have no point with this one. Do you really understand the Christian narrative? Why did God send Jesus to be killed?
@Ali10Amer Jesus taught us about all of this. He had to die, rise again, ascend, the gospel preached throughout the entire world, and then (when the Jews are surrounded and being annihilated after accepting the false messiah, they realize their mistake and beg him to return) return as King
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 Greek was the language spoken by the common people of the Gentiles and the gospel was at that time turned to them. In any case, Jesus’ gospel will be preached throughout the entire world and every tribe, every tongue will be present in heaven. Truth transcends language.
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 I would never place my eternal destination in a man, well read or otherwise. I will go to God and His word. Will the scholars be next to me when I’m prostrate before God at the judgement? Will any man dare to speak or stand? I will fear God, not man. I will trust God, not man.
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 Jesus spoke multiple languages, as did many of the first believers. The NT was written in Greek because it was the language of common man, and it was the time of the Gentiles. (Hebrew for the OT, except Aramaic for the gentile portions).
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 I have read a lot of theology, viewpoints, sermons, (ancient, modern, everything in between)…people’s points of view are very interesting. But everyone should read His word for themselves and seek God as an individual. There is no substitute for your individual journey.
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 Jesus rebuked the Pharisees (religious scholars) of His time because they always seem to miss the spirit and truth of God’s word and completely fumble it. But there have always been common people who read, understand, and believe it. They are His sheep and hear His voice
@ikalush2@JamesKowalski88 The Messiah story has never changed. God never contradicted himself, nor played a trick on us all. The Jews reject the Messiah because they did not understand their own prophecies. There are even now Jews who believe Jesus is the Messiah. Their numbers are growing, as well.
