@cluzniak I'm currently at a school where students have class 4 days and are at a work placement one day a week. There is too much to say in a tweet, but would love to chat with a group of folks about highs and lows. @NolanFossum
@NolanFossum@T_F_Berger I love giving feedback for formative assessments. And having kiddos reflect on their level of understanding, but no official grades for formative.
And we're off at the @GSDMC1#GSDMC24 conference. First sessions are underway and as I walk through the halls, you can hear the laughs of all the #mathpeople that are loving learning. #youareamathperson

"The premise of teacher burnout is a convenient fiction that blames teachers for not being able to cope rather than faulting school systems that set both teachers and students up to fail."
@JaniceWyattRoss I worry that we are pretending that school is the only thing in students' lives. It isn't the only thing in our lives, why would we ask that of our students?
@ItsHelloCoCo As the teacher, I've always appreciated the information. Kiddos are humans and bring their emotions and feelings with them to their school days. But, also, mindful that people feel comfortable sharing different amounts of information.
When people say “but the way we taught math back then worked, so why change it?” I’m left wondering: worked for WHO though? How many people do you know in your adult life who actually like math or feel remotely capable of doing it? #mathchat
