From the genomes of emerging pathogens to AI-powered surveillance systems, the tools reshaping global health are more powerful than ever. But connecting the data, the science, and the response is where the real challenge lies.

This September, as part of the 29th International VEME Workshop in Stellenbosch, we are bringing that conversation into the open.

Prof. @houzhou will show how genomics, climate data and human mobility can be woven together to trace how pathogens emerge and spread across populations. Prof. @MOUGK will examine how AI and digital tools are transforming disease surveillance and what it means to deploy them responsibly when the data is limited.
