Lesson Pix is my forever favourite! Teaching in a special Ed classroom, visuals are everything, and students responds well to it.

This will be our calendar, when we come in together and meet as a class.

Excited for this new transition for myself and I. ⭐️
Ok twitter, I have never asked for anything until now. Please retweet
@AdrianaLaGrange please do the right thing and cancel all standardized tests this year. They are not appropriate for so many reasons and are contributing to poor mental health of our students. #abed#ableg
Octopuses can solve complex puzzles requiring pushing or pulling actions, like this octopus unscrewing the lid of a jar… from the inside.

We had a substitute teacher today, so I basically taught the entire day on my last day! So...I decided to switch it up & do something fun.
This month’s virtue is “patience” so we created an art that takes a lot of patience & I’m touched by the effort my students put in! 😆
Have you heard of Scratch Poems? 📝Here is a sample from my Knowledge Giveaway Project that showcases my learning! I simply scratched out words from my Teaching Indigenous Perspectives textbook to make an authentic poem! This activity could be used at any grade level!
I don’t know why this happens the way it does, but students are always more engaged when you ask them to post their thoughts on sticky notes and place it on the chart paper, then present their thinking rather than having them do the work individually and marking their work. 🤷🏽♀️😳
Can you figure out what the pattern is?
Today, I placed 6 pattern challenge stations around the classroom. Students worked in groups to figure out what the pattern is. They loved it!! Loved seeing them work it out as a group and come up with a solution!
As an introduction to patterns, students explored with pattern blocks. They had to figure out a way to fit the pattern blocks perfectly in their challenge picture.
3 teams, 1 winner. The fastest team got a point. See... math can be fun!
Update: School Threats Made Online
There is no credible threat to any Calgary area schools tomorrow.
We believe this incident was a hoax designed to fuel fear within our community, while spoofing the identity of an unsuspecting Calgarian.

Summative Assessment Style!! They didn’t even know that I was summatively assessing them.
They were having fun working out the problems on the whiteboard explaining to me verbally the steps they’re taking to solve the problem while I watched and marked 😊
My student sent this math problem to me to show me that he understands subtraction! We have been working one on one together for the past week.
This student has behavioural challenges and he only does work through technology. So, I’m pretty proud of him. And he got it correct!
Today, I taught my second part of my STEAM project! Students tested out their wind turbines using different angles!
Some students were also introduced to “trial and error” by understanding that scientists need to test out their projects one than once.
It was a fun fun day!
Today we started the 1st part of my STEAM project! (Science & Art) students modelled the windmill design, decorated it & understood it’s purpose!
They are excited for the Math portion trm (testing their windmills using different angles) by going outside to test them out!
Cause starting Monday, students will be making their own #windturbines & testing them out!
Couldn’t do my STEAM plan for Sky Science so I thought about another way to integrate Science, Tech & Enginneer, Art & Math in the weather unit!!
Super excited! Stay tuned 😆
