Today was my FIRST last day! 🍎✏️
I have completed my first full year of teaching!
But my EDventures continue; I am proud to share that I will be working in the Golden Hills School Division next year, as their Early Numeracy Interventionist! 🧮🌡📊
What a magical and memorable experience this was for my kiddos! 🐛 —> 🦋 and to end the school year with a bang, we are going to release these beauties on the last day of school🎉
Our self-portraits turned out beautifully! 🎨🖍 We used handheld mirrors to really capture the shape of our features and learned about the proportion of the face. These creations go perfectly with our “I Am” poems we have been writing!
Kids need books to keep them creatively engaged over the summer! So I’m giving away 50 copies of my latest activity book, Give This Book a Cover — one set of 25 here, one on Instagram.
If you can get these books into kids’ hands, RT this tweet and follow me to enter to win them!
Talk about appetizing arrays!🍿Today we kicked off our day finding arrays in food, then we made our own array with popcorn! We learned that heating can change different materials. We used the cooking method to change popcorn and discovered popcorn is an irreversible change!
Yay for arrays! 🤩 We have been working on counting lots of objects quickly by using equal groups and arrays! Today we wanted to see how many shoes were in our classroom. We found that we have enough to start a shoe store!
Today we learned all about estimating! We made thoughtful guesses and then found an exact amount! We counted the erasers by 10s all the way to 1000! We even stopped half way through counting to revise our first estimations! #math#primarymath#handson
I have been using Storyline Online to expose my students to Black culture and history through books! They have been loving listening to these stories during snack time!
My very first classroom! 🥰
I have spent a lot of time in here making it perfect for my students on their first day back after being away for so long. I don’t think it will ever be “done” because I’ll always be making adjustments...
What do you think I’m forgetting?
Teaching kiddos about changing their mindset is so important to me. This set from Teacher Created Resorces looks amazing in my classroom and will help learners see what a growth mindset looks like! 🧠
