Cody Gakpo spent the last 10 minutes of the Forest game on his feet in the dugout as #LFC tried to find a winner. He was the first one over to the 4th official at FT. He’s not tried to agitate for a move, despite all the noise. I really do hope people get behind him this season.

Keep switching them throughout the game and watch defenders slowly become looser with their marking as their muscle memory gets confused and they give Gakpo the space he needs to get shots off and Barcola the half a yard he needs to destroy them with his speed.

Was surprised it was given TBH. Foul before was 50/50.

The interesting point is the potential foul throw for the lead up to the penalty decision. VAR can’t get involved with fouls throws even if a goal is scored from a foul throw restart or like this a penalty comes from a foul throw restart. VAR checks all goals and penalties but not when the restart is from a throw in.

I think the VAR protocol needs to be to include all restarts for checking goals and penalties in the same APP.
