@FlintDibble This might sound like a kid/teen idea—and that’s okay. Don’t bash or mock anyone’s “hilarious” suggestions on any topic; encourage them instead. It might not be to your level of genius, but even a mediocre idea can still spark real critical thinking in the person who shared it.

@AUSegyptology@FlintDibble After further reading, this published study does indeed backdate the timeline of sophisticated bow drill use and raises questions about the metallurgy composition. The word “stuff” is so vague, but I find that the post from @Graham__Hancock does fit.

So the tooling isn’t new, but the use of the tool and the composition of the metal alloy; it now suggests that mastery bow drill work was a lot older than previously thought? I do think that is the takeaway from the article. Is this accurate?
