Self respect by definition is the confidence and pride in knowing that your behaviour is both honorable and dignified. When you abuse someone, you not only disrespect them, but yourself also. Gender-based violence is an act committed by a person who in fact has no self respect.
@naczim defines Gender based violence as any harm that is directed to any person basing on their gender.
