Florida has been the most aggressive state in the nation against illegal immigration. @RonDeSantis has been active! Here is what they have done (many of them first in the country):

**Banned undocumented immigrants from public colleges and adult education programs** (effective July 2026). Students must prove U.S. citizenship or lawful presence to enroll in Florida’s 28 public colleges and GED programs.

**Ended in-state tuition** for undocumented students at public colleges and universities.

**Criminalized illegal entry and re-entry** into Florida with mandatory minimum jail sentences (9 months for first offense, more for repeats).

**Expanded 287(g) agreements** Florida was one of the first and most aggressive states to deputize state and local law enforcement to perform immigration enforcement functions alongside ICE.

**Banned sanctuary cities and policies** statewide no local government can limit cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

**Strengthened E-Verify** requirements for employers.

**Invalidated certain out-of-state driver’s licenses** issued exclusively to undocumented immigrants.

**Increased penalties** for crimes committed by unauthorized aliens, including enhanced sentencing and restrictions on bail.

**Created a State Board of Immigration Enforcement** to coordinate aggressive statewide action.

Florida continues to lead by putting American citizens and legal residents first in education, jobs, public safety, and taxpayer resources.

Meanwhile, housing affordability, insurance, school test scores, and the economy are improving as a direct result!
