@Windows It has transcended beyond its original purpose of indicating physically what and where your data will be "saved". It's now an icon. But it also depends on context. The floppy disk icon still exists in Windows if you have a floppy drive connected.

@IntNostalgia The "desktop" icon. Back when people actually had these on their desks. Fun fact: I designed the Vista desktop icon that replaced this metaphor.

One of the rare times I was able to do something besides icons was a holiday pack of wallpapers back in 2017. A group of us got to participate. Being a former action sports designer I knew right away I wanted to do a snowboarding ninja cat. We did a day and night theme.
