On March 29, 2026, due to the ongoing state of war, this year’s Palm Sunday procession was cancelled, and the celebrations took on a different form. His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, presided over the Liturgy of the Word, followed by a solemn blessing with the Relic of the Holy Cross, offered toward the City of Jerusalem at the Basilica of All Nations in Gethsemane, as prayers were lifted for peace and the reconciliation of all humanity.
