Dear Team,
I have submitted documents for computation of House Tax at your Zonal Office at Kavi Nagar on 30 Mar 2026. I was told that by end of April, I will get message for the house tax. More than 45 days have passed since I have submitted the application, I am yet to receive any inputs. Could you please tell me how many days more will it take ?
The #DefenceTravelSystem is becoming a textbook example of how public money gets wasted in the name of “control.”
A flight from Leh to Pune on 23 May is being booked through DTS at ₹41,529, while cheaper options are available in the market for nearly ₹30,000.
That’s an extra ₹11,000+ wasted on just ONE officer, ONE journey.
Now multiply this across thousands of defence personnel travelling every single day. The excess payout alone could easily cross ₹100+ crore annually.
And this is apart from:
• Massive yearly maintenance cost of the DTS platform itself
• Salaries and manpower diverted just to process ticket bookings
• 10000 Soldiers being reduced to clerical staff instead of operational duties
The irony? We keep hearing there’s “no budget” for critical requirements like bulletproof jackets, modern equipment, or troop welfare. Yet hundreds of crores are comfortably burned every year on a broken travel booking ecosystem.
What makes it worse is the complete lack of choice and convenience for soldiers.
In this case, personnel are being pushed toward a costlier SpiceJet ticket while cheaper options from IndiGo or Air India are available.
Why should a soldier deployed in Leh struggle for something as basic as booking a flight home?
Trust the armed forces.
Allow open market booking.
Reimburse transparently.
Stop forcing an expensive, outdated system on soldiers just to justify its existence.

An Open Letter to Policy Makers:
I am a salaried class general caste man. I have paid income tax for over 23 years now. But what is there in store for me in lieu of this income tax. Almost nothing.
1. Can my kids use government schools. NO. Having seen the government education system for long, no quality of education for almost all schools.
2. Can I use the facilities of government hospitals. NO. It’s more of mismanagement and chaos which will make me more sick than healthy.
3. Can I get benefit of any government scheme. NO. I am general caste and salaried. So no government scheme for me.
4. Do my children get any reservation. NO.
Where does my tax go. In distributing freebies. Do I have a choice of saying no. NO. Because government decisions are forced on me. I may not be willing to give away freebies but can I decide. NO.
Government makes roads and expressways. But I end up paying Tolls. On Ganga Expressway, toll is almost 3 Rs. per km for a car. That is after I have given road tax for registration, GST on vehicle, income tax and VAT on fuel.
And who gets impacted with toll. We the common man. Every truck using this expressway will pay toll and will increase the transportation cost of goods. What happens, the price rises.
So my question is: What does the common man from general class and salaries get in lieu of the income tax being paid, year on year ?

Buy a Car, pay GST. Get the vehicle registered, pay the Road Tax. Fill petrol, pay taxes and once you drive, pay Tolls. What is this. Isn’t this Tax Terorrism
@SamSiff But a man will still has to work and pay maintenance even if he is uneducated, even if he is not in physical condition to work, even when he is specially abled; because he is a man.
@SamSiff Wow… and the same Bombay High Court has adjourned a different case (of Defamation) to 2046. Why so much hurry to settle some cases and why none for some other case.
My experience: we do get tickets on DTS, though not much experience in train tickets. But yes, the answer to if it’s needed- well may not be in peace locations or places like metro, urban areas but in remote locations with limited connectivity, it is needed. Utilising uniformed personnel for this task- well again it can be deliberated and IMHO, we may get to free some personnel from these duties at most places. May be retain them in remote locations. This needs deliberation by an external agency.
@barandbench The courts are extremely insensitive to the cruelty faced by husbands. Their pleas land on deaf ears. And wives’ allegations are considered as gospel truth. If H’ble Supreme Court is like this, where will yeh husbands as a community go.
Those in the position of power are habituated of abusing the system. It has become a trend in India. Sometimes it’s a sin do MLA crashing against people, or some other time it may be a judge abusing his position or the proposal of increasing MP seats to 850. It’s rampant and it’s everywhere. And when it comes to giving to the Defence Forces, budget comes into play.
@SamSiff Courts become whimsical at times. Two days, two statements, both contradictory. Are the courts confused or is it they do not have straight guidelines. Free to decide and state whatever they want.
@KanojiaPJ When citizens vote, they not only vote to a particular candidate but also to his political party. So during the term, if an elected person changes the party, it is defying those citizens who have so voted.
@PiushSharma28 A bureaucrat, backed by politicians and lack of interest by government, can say anything it becomes the rule of the land. Sad state
