Prince Komwiswa Yoweri, named next in line to the throne under King Oyo’s 2022 Will, holds a Bachelor of Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Makerere University and a First Class Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from UMI.
King Oyo’s will reportedly did more than record his personal affairs. It also spoke to the future of the Tooro throne, naming a preferred heir and setting out an order of succession. His passing therefore came with a plan already on record.
UPDATE: The late King Oyo’s family has rejected this evening’s announcement of the next King.
Princess Ruth Komuntale called it disappointing, saying it came before ongoing consultations led by Gender Minister Henry Tumukunde had concluded.

UPDATE!
Hon. @IsmailKasule4, Member of Parliament for Hoima West, has been appointed the new Spokesperson of the Party, effective immediately.
The appointment was confirmed by the Party Secretary General, Hon. Alice Alaso, during the ongoing party press conference in Lunguja.
FORTITUDE
Meaning: "The mental and emotional strength to face danger, pain, or adversity with courage and resilience. It combines bravery, patience, and the unwavering resolve to endure hardships over a long period of time. Unlike spontaneous bravery in a single battle, fortitude implies a sustained, long-term ability to keep going through difficulties. It represents the firmness of mind and spirit, preventing one from giving in to despair or temptation."
With the way she was speaking a few months back, it's crazy to see Mariam Wangadya being pushed to the point of resignation. We must all work for the rule of law, otherwise everyone will be forced to learn the hard way. No one can be safe in a sinking ship.
Court has granted bail to Hon Muwanga Kivumbi and other co-accused.
The bail ruling for some other co-accused has been deferred to next week.

Personalised politics, where loyalty to a leader overshadows institutions, undermines long term stability of a country. Prioritising institutions over individuals is sound advice for any country aiming for resilient progress beyond one generation. The challenge, of course, is that those who benefit most from the current arrangement have little interest in building checks on their own power. Sooner or later they will learn the hard way.

Judge Emmanuel Baguma can’t wait to convict Dr Besigye. If it were up to him, he’d have summarily convicted and sentenced him the very day he first walked into his courtroom.
Any matter Besigye raises, whether of law or human rights, is treated as an irritating inconvenience.
But Dr Besigye isn’t a pushover. He won’t go down that easily.
This morning at Luzira Murchison Bay prison, we checked on Hon. Erias Lukwago. Delivered to him our message of solidarity and support as he goes through these very hard times.
Truthfully, even by looking at him and listening to the agonising pain he is in, he has no business being in prison unless the regime's intention is to kill him. He urgently needs to access advanced medical attention. This is the most deserving case for the judiciary to live to their oath and temper justice with mercy.
An ailing Lukwago who presented medical reports from Mulago saying he requires advanced treatment, preferably from India where he got surgery, has been further reminded until 16th July!!
7 years and 10 months after he was brutally shot dead in Arua, the High Court has finally ordered an inquest into the death of Yasin Kawuma who was a driver to our leader @HEBobiwine. (An inquest is a judicial investigation to establish the facts surrounding a specific event, most commonly an unexplained, sudden, or violent death. It is a fact-finding inquiry typically led by a coroner or a magistrate.)
Although this matter was filed in 2019, it was not until yesterday that judgment was delivered. Even then and regardless of the outcome, this goes to show the importance of always documenting and filing these cases and keeping them on record. As the saying goes, omusango teguvunda (a case doesn't rot). Eventually, such cases get revisited!
Special tribute to Senior Counsel, Ladislaus Rwakafuzi who filed this matter before he became indisposed, and his assistants who continued to follow it up.
