Panic gripped Yumbe District after three people presenting Ebola-like symptoms were isolated, and one unfortunately died. The patients were reportedly coughing blood, prompting health officials to temporarily withhold the deceased's body.
However, during an Ebola taskforce meeting on Friday, District Health Officer Dr. George Angupale Okoboa delivered a sigh of relief, confirming that all samples tested negative.
"We have no case of Ebola in Yumbe. The body was released yesterday to relatives for burial," Dr. Okoboa said, urging the public to remain vigilant to keep the district safe.
