Sam Mugumya's mother says she is in so much pain as a parent, who doesn't know the whereabouts of her son. What is most troubling her heart is not knowing whether her son is alive or dead.
Since his abduction on August 26, 2025 , Sam Mugumya has been held incommunicado for 352 days now.

After this post, many kind Ugandans reached out and said they want to add to this contribution to Sam Mugunga’s 83 year old mother. As we speak, I have received about 1.1M so far. I told her a while ago that more people are contributing for us to look after her as we also fight for the release of her son. She said, “do you know, I had thought I won’t survive this year? Because I have been tested to the point of failing to buy a kg of potatoes. I have lost so much weight and I was telling a person who was recently asking me why I have lost weight that it is because of hunger. But I didn’t know that God was watching and waiting to intervene at the right moment…” (I wish I was saying this in runyankore so that it doesn’t lose its real emotion).. anyway, I told her I will send what I will have collected by the end of tomorrow so if there are more people who want to contribute, you can please send to 0776462727🙏🙏

In his reflection about what Christianity should say to oppressed black South Africans during Apartheid, Steve Biko said that the Bible should also preach to the black man that “it is a sin to allow oneself to be oppressed”. One of the people that have vehemently resisted committing this sin is Dr Kizza Besigye. You do not oppress him with his permission, and he won’t cooperate in fostering his own oppression - even if it means dying in protesting abuse.
