Lessons for the upcoming bull market that EVERYONE needs to remember.
Trust me, you'll want to bookmark this one:
• Take profits on the way up, NOT just at the top (you'll never time the top).
• Every trade needs an invalidation - fundamental, price, and/or time stop.
• Do not over-leverage. Most shouldn't touch leverage at all.
• Journal every single trade. The thesis, stop, and post-trade reflection.
• Cut losers fast. Add to your winners.
• Don't trade out of boredom.
• Trim your watchlist regularly.
• If/when you hit a big trade, don't be afraid to take time off.
• Convert profits to fiat. Keeping stables/liquidity on exchanges makes it easier to round-trip.
• Rule of thumb: risk 1-3% of portfolio size per trade.
What am I missing?
Bill Ackman shows how $10,000 invested at 22 could become $25 million over 43 years at 20% a year - then shows how losing half your money just once every 12 years cuts that ending value to $1.8 million: “one of the most valuable assets you have today is your youth.”
this is him explaining finance through a lemonade stand, why avoiding huge losses matters more than chasing the highest possible return, and what he looks for in a business he could theoretically own forever.
“if the stock market were to close for 10 years you wouldn’t be unhappy.” Ackman says the real test is understanding how the business makes money, paying a reasonable price, avoiding too much debt, and having the stomach to do the opposite of the crowd: “in bubbles you probably should be a seller. in busts you should probably be a buyer.”

What a day! Tiring yet rewarding. Like to thank Allah for this giving me the ability to go this far. This was the first time in the history of Pakistan that any Pakistani athlete won a medal at the World athletics championships
