These are some facts that cannot be ignored. It is essential to distinguish between the Kurdish people and the SDF. Kurds are a foundational pillar of Syrian society, while the SDF is a cross-border organization driven by its own narrow agenda.
📌 The SDF claimed it was fighting ISIS, yet it went on to release ISIS members.
📌 The SDF claimed to be democratic, yet it practiced every form of repression against the people of eastern Syria.
📌 The SDF claimed it sought to unify Syria, while in reality it continued to pursue power-sharing, quotas, and federalism.
📌 The SDF claimed to be independent, yet it continues to receive its orders from the PKK.
📌 The SDF claimed that Arabs were a core component within its ranks, yet those who ultimately turned against it were Kurds and Arabs alike.
What I know for certain is that the SDF has become part of the past, no matter how hard it tries to reinvent or reassert itself.
Syrian government forces freed about 126 minors from al-Aqtan Prison in Raqqa after SDF/YPG's withdrawal.
Many of the children were detained for political reasons such as protests, refusing conscription, or symbolic acts like raising the Syrian flag.
An illuminating and much-needed first-person report on why the SDF project in NE Syria collapsed in barely a day. In short: extremely oppressive (plus incompetent) governance by hardline YPG/PKK rulers over an 80+% Arab population. https://t.co/a1G4NS0Syb
Raqqa residents describe SDF social-media surveillance, arrests, and recent relief:
- Residents report the SDF monitored personal social-media activity (likes, comments, posts) and held people accountable for online interactions.
- People say many were arrested for liking, commenting, posting, or even setting a WhatsApp profile picture; SDF authorities conducted widespread phone searches.
- Fear of being tracked led residents to use fake names and photos and avoid posting about the government or politics.
- The atmosphere under that rule made everyday online communication feel dangerous and caused persistent psychological fear.
- Since recent changes in control, residents report a sudden easing of fear, greater willingness to post and speak openly on Facebook and other platforms, and feelings of psychological relief.
- Residents express celebration of newfound freedom and openness to express opinions publicly.

German journalist Nadine Pungs After visiting Raqqa, she speaks about the reality of the so-called “Autonomous Administration / SDF,” which in fact operates as PKK militias, and the crimes committed in Raqqa, including abductions, forced recruitment of minors, and many other abuses.
Below is her full testimony translated into English from her official page (frau.pungs):
I have so far refrained from speaking publicly about the Kurdish Autonomous Self-Administration in northeastern Syria, because I did not want to endanger my Arab acquaintances who still live there. Yes, they were living in fear fear of the Kurdish party and its militia, the so-called “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF).
In June, we were in Raqqa, and what we saw and heard there shocked us deeply.
Here in the West, a narrative is often promoted about a democratic Kurdish government in Syria. After all hey women are fighting in the army, and even without headscarves. That resonates with people here.
But the fact that many girls and boys in Rojava are abducted and forcibly recruited you never hear about that here.
That the Arab population felt discriminated against and harassed well-known German journalists and so-called human rights activists never tell us that either.
They also say nothing about the alleged tunnel systems that the SDF is said to have dug.
Nothing about corruption.
Nothing about arbitrary arrests (there are reports of torture).
Nothing about how the Arab population in Rojava speaks of “occupation” by the Kurdish party rather than liberation.
Nothing about the filth, the screaming poverty.
Nothing about children who have to collect garbage.
Nothing about the fear among Arab men and women of being imprisoned without cause.
Nothing about how they were not allowed to post critical content on social media or raise the new Syrian flag, because they would otherwise face serious consequences.
No our so-called human rights activists do not tell us any of this, because it would destroy their business model.
But reality looks very different from what these lobbyists constantly tell us.
I am saying this clearly now: There was never any talk of democracy and freedom in northern Syria at least not for the Arab population. For them, the Kurdish party is “democratic” in name only. And many Kurds also suffered under the SDF.
Anyone who protested against the SDF had to flee or ended up in prison.
But unfortunately, that does not fit the narrative that many activists here continue to spread.

Property Rights: The Root Cause of the Palestinian/Israeli Conflict
The Palestinian-Israeli conflict is the inevitable result of the destruction of a centuries-old system of private property rights and its replacement by race-based state ownership. Since 1947, property rights in Palestine have been replaced by a government agency that owns the majority of land, constantly steals more, never sells, and only leases land to one racial group. Religious and racial conflict are not destined in Palestine; they are historically rare occurrences, but this system of property rights would create violent conflict anywhere.
In 1945, the British mandate government surveyed land ownership in Palestine and found that Jews owned 5.67% of the total land, while Muslims, Christians & other denominations owned 48.31% of the land. The remaining 46.02% was public land, mainly in the sparsely inhabited desert in the south, most of which was de facto owned by the Bedouins who herded there. Among the privately-owned lands, only 10.5% was owned by Jews, while 89.5% was owned by non-Jews. There was not a single district in Palestine in which Jews owned a majority of the land, as this illustration makes clear.[1]
In 1917, when the Balfour Declaration was issued, the Jewish population ranged from 4% to 13%. In 1945, the population of Palestine was 1,764,520, of which 69% were Muslim and Christian, and 31% were Jewish.[2] The majority of the Jewish population was recent immigrants from Europe, many illegal. Even after decades of legal and illegal immigration, land purchases financed by European benefactors, and terrorism against Palestinian civilians and British forces, the Zionist movement had less than a third of the population of Palestine, and owned less than 6% of its land when it established its ethnostate. To establish an ethnostate on a land in which the right ethnicity was less than a third of the population, and owned less than a twelfth of the land, Zionist terrorists engaged in a premeditated and systematic campaign of terrorism, murder, and violent expulsion, meticulously planned from the 1930s, ruthlessly executed against a largely unarmed population, and practically continuing until this day, explaining the conflict’s longevity. This has been extensively documented by Palestinian historians, such as Walid Khalidi and Rashid Khalidi, as well as by Israeli historians like Ilan Pappe and Benny Morris.[3]

By the way, this is the size of Gaza. Basically a train ride from Brooklyn to Yonkers.
Now imagine this slice of NYC being subjected to the equivalent of 6 Hiroshima bombs, mass starvation, drones sniping children, hospitals demolished, and aid workers massacred.
