Yesterday, bandits attacked the Goran Namaye community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

At least 17 innocent lives were lost, several others sustained injuries, and an unspecified number of residents were abducted.

Yet, look at what is trending across Arewa. It’s truly heartbreaking and pathetic that such a tragedy is receiving so little attention. 💔

The tragic death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar in the captivity of bandits is a heartbreaking national tragedy and a stark reminder of the urgent security challenges facing our country.

It is disturbing that a man who dedicated his life to serving and defending Nigeria could become a victim of banditry. His death should not be treated as just another statistic but as an answer wake-up call for stronger and more decisive action against those terrorist bandits and all those behind them.

May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, comfort his family and bring lasting peace and security to our nation. Ameen.

Here’s an observation I made as a parent, and this is a heartfelt message to other parents: please, limit your children’s screen time.

For the past two to three years, I struggled deeply with my son’s attention span. Every single teacher, both his Islamic teachers and his school teachers, said the same thing:

“Your son is incredibly smart. One of the smartest children in class. But he has serious attention issues.”

And they were right.

I tried everything. I even created a full homeschooling routine at some point. I bought educational materials, structured activities, learning aids, I genuinely went the extra mile because I knew my son was intelligent. But the mistake I kept making was that once we were done learning, he went straight back to screens.

The way this man called Namadi Sambo quietly disappeared into private life when his boss Goodluck Jonathan lost the 2015 election needs to be studied.

After Jonathan lost, Namadi Sambo simply retired quietly to his private life. No noise, no endless political drama, no desperate hunger for power, no large appetite for ambition like some Vice Presidents would do. He just walked away peacefully and allowed history to take its course.

Till today, since 1999, Namadi Sambo remains the only Vice President who never attempted to become President after leaving office.

What a man of content.
