Following the attack by Houthi terrorists on Riyadh’s King Khalid Int. Airport and the killing of 12 people, including the martyrdom of umrah pilgrims, with over 300 injured, Sheikh Abdullah Al Qurafi recited these Ayaat in Isha tonight mentioning the status of martyrs.
The Christian orientalists falsely accuse our pure innocent mother Aisha due to their hated for muhammad ﷺ, without any desire to truly look into the facts of the matter, yet they revere Maryam who had a child without a husband due to their unreserved love for Jesus, both are pure and innocent, but hatred and malice causes unwarranted levels of injustice to manifest from certain people. Indeed Dhulm will be darkness on the day of judgement. May Allah preserve us
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh as just witnesses; and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety; and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do.

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Āl al-Shaykh made an interesting observation about Russian literature, particularly Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. Noting how Russian literature explored the human being.
There are two letters written by Leo Tolstoy.
In 1909, Elena E. Vekilova wrote to Tolstoy concerning her sons, who wished to leave Russian Orthodoxy and embrace Islam. In the relevant passage of his reply, Tolstoy wrote:
“As regards the preference of Mohammedanism [Islam] to Orthodoxy, and especially for the noble motives which your sons put forward, I can only wholeheartedly sympathise with such a conversion.
“Strange as it may be for me to say this, placing as I do above all else the Christian ideals and Christian teaching in its true sense, there can be no doubt for me that Mohammedanism, in its external forms, stands incomparably higher than Church Orthodoxy.
“Therefore, if a person were presented with only two choices: adherence to Church Orthodoxy or Mohammedanism, then for every reasonable person there can be no doubt about the choice, and everyone will prefer Mohammedanism, with its recognition of the one dogma of the one God and His Prophet, instead of that complex and incomprehensible theology of the Trinity, redemption, sacraments, the Mother of God, saints and their images, and complicated forms of worship.”
Leo Tolstoy, Letter to E. E. Vekilova, Yasnaya Polyana, 13–16 March 1909, Complete Works, vol. 79, Letter 131.
And around twenty-five years earlier, Tolstoy had writing to Alexandra A. Tolstaya in 1884, while describing the isolation he experienced because of his religious views, he wrote in the relevant passage:
“I would be very glad if you were of the same faith as I am. Try to understand my life. I have none of the advantages of life: wealth, position, honours. My friends, even my family, turn away from me.
“Some, the liberals and aesthetes, consider me mad or weak-minded, like Gogol; others, the revolutionaries and radicals, consider me a mystic and a chatterer; government people consider me a dangerous revolutionary; the Orthodox consider me a devil.
“I confess that this is difficult for me. And therefore, please, regard me as a good Mohammedan [Muslim], and then everything will be fine.”
Leo Tolstoy, Letter to A. A. Tolstaya, Yasnaya Polyana, 22–23 April 1884.
I’m often asked where I find many of the benefits, quotations and reflections that I share. My answer is quite simple: books of literature (adab).
During my studies in Saudi Arabia many years ago, I came across the words of Imām Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr concerning his reason for compiling Bahjat al-Majālis wa Uns al-Majālis. He sought to bring together a broad range of subjects, including sayings, poetry, anecdotes, stories and valuable insights. The idea was to give the reader familiarity with many different topics, so that when sitting in various gatherings and conversations, he would have something beneficial to contribute.
Since then, I have had a particular appreciation for this genre of Islamic literature. Books of adab introduce the reader to the words of scholars, poets, eloquent Arabs and people of wisdom. They cover an incredibly wide range of subjects and often preserve insights and observations that are difficult to find elsewhere.
Here are some works I would recommend:
• ʿUyūn al-Akhbār, Ibn Qutaybah
• Bahjat al-Majālis wa Uns al-Majālis, Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr
• Rawḍat al-ʿUqalāʾ wa Nuzhat al-Fuḍalāʾ, Ibn Ḥibbān
• al-Funūn, Ibn ʿAqīl al-Ḥanbalī
• Jamharat Maqālāt Maḥmūd Muḥammad Shākir, Maḥmūd Muḥammad Shākir
• Abāṭīl wa Asmār, Maḥmūd Muḥammad Shākir
• Namaṭ Ṣaʿb wa Namaṭ Mukhīf, Maḥmūd Muḥammad Shākir
• al-Mutanabbī, Maḥmūd Muḥammad Shākir
• Risālah fī al-Ṭarīq ilā Thaqāfatinā, Maḥmūd Muḥammad Shākir
These are the kinds of books in which you stumble across gems you may never encounter elsewhere.
The library of the noble Shaikh, Al-‘Allāmah, Rabee’ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī (may Allah’s mercy be upon him) is now open, and welcomes visitors to benefit.
May Allah make this another means of reward for the shaikh after his death.
Visiting hours from ‘Asr prayer till ‘Ishā.

Conversely, the worst of people are those who bring the most harm to others.

Fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah is an expiation for two years.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah.
He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” Narrated by Muslim.
