@RE_sports published a photo of the @MuhlsAthletics track team. The caption below mentions the team's goal to win the @piaadistrict3-Class B title. Indeed, the Muhls were able to accomplish the feat. The 1941 title was one of two district championships in school history. The other one came in 1944. Muhlenberg was coached by ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฅ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ค๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก. Buckworth earned @BCIAASports's "Gold Leaf" membership in 1968. From the BCIAA website, "All Gold Leaf members are nominated by their respective school districts ... [and are individuals] that have spent countless hours touching the lives of Berks County's student-athletes." A minimum of 20 years' service is required for consideration.

@ReadingEagle printed a photo of @MuhlsAthletics ๐๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ค๐๐ง๐ฌ. He had recently won a silver medal at the Junior Olympics in New Jersey at the age of 10. Aikens, a 2002 school Hall of Fame inductee, still holds two Berks County records. Both set in 1993, his 13.60 seconds in the 110-meter high hurdles and 50 feet, 3-1/2 inches are two of the longest-standing marks in the county (Source: @MikeDragoSports). Aikens is considered one of the greatest track & field athletes in Berks history.
Our sport is in serious trouble long term.
Itโs long overdue for every coach in every event area at every level to come together and save the long term future of our sport.
This has nothing to do with performances or medals. Coaches and athletes continue to shine in the field and on the track.
This is about the value and sustainability of what we do, the monetary value of the athletes, coaches, officials, DOPs, etc.
This is not about separating the haves from the have nots. The sport does not solely belong to the elites in our sport.
This is about us and how we create a better present and build a better future for the people in our sport.
Congratulations to Annissah Magloire (discus) and our boys 4x100m Dontrell Evans, Jayden Faulkner, Giovanni Castiglioni, and Freddy Lacey for getting Berks 1st All Division!!!
Congrats Annissah on taking 6th place in discus with a new personal best if 121-4 at the PIAA District3 Championships. Oh, and she qualified for the PIAA State meet next week!!!

@MuhlsAthletics ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ฌ turned the rare triple at the Firing Meet, winning the 100, 200, and 400 meters. It was the 68th edition of the legendary Berks competition. Thomas went on to win the District 3-AAA 400-meter run a couple of weeks later.
Track & Field is so weird lol.
No other sport do the coaches also have to work the event lol.
I never see a high school basketball coach working the scoreboard during their own game, or the head football coach working the chains each week.
Before @OhioStateFB's Jeremiah Smith was racking up 187 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the Rose Bowl, he was winning state championships in the hurdles in Florida ๐
Smith won the 2023 FHSAA 1A titles in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles as a junior at Chaminade-Madonna.
