I think Berserk is an extremely interesting setting because at least pre eclipse it is mostly just a low magic medieval world. Not many magical things happen normally. But then there's these select few people who got touched by the supernatural and they are absolutely terrifying.

I still sometimes think about this. The pre Eclipse Berserk setting of "On the surface this is just medieval times and pray you never scratch below that surface" holds a special place in my heart.

In general I'm a huge fan of Berserk's brand of creature design/horror.
