Since last week,our friend and brother Aijaz Ahmed Meer from Dadasara,Tral (Twitter/X: @aajazmeer2) has been battling for his life in Oman,far away from home.
He has been working there for the past four years and is currently admitted in the ICU at As Sultan Qaboos Hospital,Salalah,after being diagnosed with meningitis.
Over the past week,the news of his condition has spread across Kashmir, and people everywhere are praying for his speedy recovery. Many of us remember him joining Twitter/X Spaces and spending long hours with him in discussions.
I humbly request the concerned authorities to kindly look into this matter seriously and help ensure that he is brought back home once he recovers and is discharged from the ICU.
May Allah grant him complete Shifa and bring him back safely to his family.

J&K is heading toward a serious climate crisis. The dry spell has already begun, Kashmir feels like summer in winter. Rivers are shrinking, the water table is falling, canals are empty for irrigation, and soon even taps may run dry. Farms will suffer, and climate change is already at our doorstep.

Yet the J&K government remains in deep slumber. A full year of Jal Shakti funds has been wasted after a House Committee stalled the department’s functioning rather than facilitating. Ground posts remain vacant and funding for PHE, irrigation and flood control is negligible.

Even this year’s ₹700 crore UT Capex is still unspent, and not a single penny has been released to the department to address the looming crisis for farmers or strengthen flood and irrigation systems.

If urgent steps are not taken to aid the department and immediately restore the CSS schemes, farmers in J&K will soon be left crying in the coming season.

A heartbreaking tragedy struck the family of Dr. Zubair Ahmad Rather a brilliant Botanist & PhD scholar from Ajas Bandipora who tragically lost his life in a horrific road accident involving an Army vehicle (13 RR) earlier this year. Yet even months later his young widow & innocent daughters have not received any financial aid or support.

They are now left to face a bleak future struggling to survive in a world where justice has yet to find them. Drowning in grief they are alone and abandoned with no one to turn to for help.

The family urgently needs support in the form of a job for the bereaved widow and financial aid to ensure the future of these innocent children.
