Advice needed Would secondary literacy leads recommend literacy mats per subject? Literacy was raised as the biggest barrier to GCSE success this year. Priorities for this year is targeting the students with below average reading ages @FunkyPedagogy @LiteracyEngine@Miss_Khaliq

@H_Miss88 I’ve trialled it during form time once a fortnight with all year 8s this year. I would at would work a lot better once a week. There was a mix of classics and contemporary novels. It is being expanded to year 7&8 next year. The books will rotate every term so plan is 3 a year
@LauraLolder We had a revision session this morning 7:45 - 8:30 and it was the exact extract for A Christmas Carol we talked through. Last weeks lessons were all on Ambition and Leadership for Macbeth
