@BaronVonLeskis@AbertayHackers VBox is an awesome choice for a free option, but VMware are able to charge what they do because they have a product that merits it. It's not perfect by any means, but I was blown away at the difference in UX when I switched from VBox -> Workstation at the start of uni. 🤷♂️
@BaronVonLeskis@AbertayHackers Aside from being the industry standard (and having seamless integration with VSphere / ESXi servers -- also industry standard), it's generally a lot less buggy, has much better networking capabilities (imo), and things tend to just _work_.
@Alh4zr3d Interesting! I'm more used to seeing access gateways deployed for jump boxes, rather than chained SSH connections, but that's from a much narrower scope of experience 😄.
Already on my list of stuff to look out for, but interesting to hear it's quite a common solution. Thanks!
@Alh4zr3d Is having the SSH agent up + forwarding configured something you're seeing often?
Considering it's (last I checked) a non-default config on both the originating device and any intermediary servers, I wouldn't have thought it was hugely common -- very curious if not the case!
Tfw your own CTF challenge takes you 9 hours to complete from scratch in re-testing... think I might have overdone the complexity of this one just a l'il bit.
Good luck #SecuriTay2023... 😁
It's that time of the year again... 🎓
