MASTURBATION IN MARRIAGE — A QUIET ISSUE WE DON’T TALK ABOUT
Yes, I said it.
As sensitive as it sounds, masturbation has quietly become a growing issue in many marriages, and ignoring it won’t make it disappear.
Marriage was designed to be a place of connection, intimacy, and safety. When self-gratification replaces shared intimacy, it often points to deeper matters that couples are avoiding.
So what’s really happening?
• Emotional distance — unresolved conflicts, lack of communication, or feeling misunderstood can push partners inward instead of toward each other.
• Stress and exhaustion — financial pressure, work stress, and parenting demands drain emotional and physical energy, leaving little room for connection.
• Unmet needs — not just physical, but affection, reassurance, appreciation, and peace.
• Technology and private habits — constant phone use, secrecy, and isolation create private worlds within marriage.
• Silence around intimacy — many couples can argue about money or relatives, but can’t talk honestly about intimacy.
Let’s be clear: the problem is not desire. Desire is normal.
The problem is when desire is no longer shared.
When intimacy becomes a solo activity instead of a shared bond, marriage slowly loses its warmth. Not through loud fights, but through quiet withdrawal.
The solution is not shame.
The solution is conversation, emotional safety, patience, and effort.
Marriage needs: • Peace
• Understanding
• Honest communication
• Emotional connection
• Intentional intimacy
If couples can talk openly without judgment, reconnect emotionally, and create safe spaces for each other, many of these silent struggles will lose their power.
Let’s stop pretending everything is fine while intimacy is dying quietly.
Strong marriages are built by facing hard truths with love, not by avoiding them.
Sensitive topic, yes. But necessary.

@zuena_kirema What if the person who introduced motorcycles wanted to reduce on the world's population among other reasons! Just imagine the lives lost each day.

When you hurt someone, apologize. Instead of the mental gymnastics of trying to justify what you did, telling 5 versions of the same story, putting on performances for people that actually don’t care, just apologize! A genuine apology would go such a long way
