Here's how GIS can be used to solve problems in the real world; Suppose a real estate agent is searching for property with the following specifications:
1. Needs to be in Swellendam
2. Reasonable driving distance from a school say 1 km.
3. More than 100 meters squared in size.

Dear Young Surveyors,
After learning the basics of every category in the field, choose two careers and perfect. For example;
1. Land/cadastral and engineering surveyor
2. Drone mapping and cartography
3. GIS data collector and GIS analyst.
Choose a good combination
You will be tempted to show that you are doing well, but it is important you resist the urge to perform for an audience that don’t matter - and maybe isn’t even watching
In my prime pale TUK, to please the board of examiners and earn my degree as a Geospatial Engineer and follow the footsteps of the likes of @Surveyor_001 , I did a 12 acre topo-cadastral survey of the TUK South B campus in south B to support planning and infrastructural upgrade, using a total station.
