Simple way to detect what is not working. Execution is king, replying to an unexpected situation (email) is about personality and ability to execute without ego getting in the way. It's not rocket science to reply in a manner that does not reveal any sensitive info. This is very similar to the exams people did in college.

"Peter did xyz last week, write 5 bullet points resuming what Peter did, without revealing any sensitive information, directly or indirectly. "

Not rocket science but does require.. good common sense.
