@PRAVINBANODKAR Thanks for your reply. Cognitive & behavioural therapy just seems to encourage recognition of stages/process but is not linking up to stopping it! Feel reluctant to consider meds - she’s only 12!?
@markofalover This is exactly the scenario for my daughter. I’m desperate for ideas to help, but it’s hard as she does it when zoned out or asleep. Thanks for your post and wishing you all the best x
PLEASE…does anyone have any ideas on how to stop #trichotillomania in a 12yo girl? Lots of support out there but I’m desperate for SOLUTIONS to stop her pulling out her eyebrows. Plasters on fingers but anything else? Feeling desperate to find UK help😢 #tricho#trich#eyebrows
@HouseOfPeanutB1 @pulling_frenzy Appreciate it’s only a short term solution though and far from ideal! Thanks again for your reply and suggestion @HouseOfPeanutB1
@HouseOfPeanutB1 @pulling_frenzy Thank you so much. I’ll look into it. It’s true that she doesn’t realise she’s doing it and seems to do it just before/after falling asleep. I confess I’ve often got her sleeping in with me so that I can help stop it or she wears plasters on her finger tips, that certainly helps.
@william_the_sir @tlcBFRB Thank you! I’ll check them out, albeit also keen to find some UK support. Sure your link will be a helpful start though, much appreciated 🙏
@andrew_kathryn @UofGPsychology Hello Kathryn, well done on your dissertation achievement! I’m keen to understand more about @trichotillomania to support my 12yo daughter. Can you share any info or contacts to help me? I’d be so grateful. 🙏
