At the end of the debate, the @beisgovuk minister @scullyp responded on behalf of the Government. But the 238,000 people who have signed the #MaternityPetition deserved so much better than his 10 minutes of bluster & waffle. They need action, not empty words.
@scullyp@Rachael_Newby@fionaj1985 Didn’t seem like you bothered to listen to any of the evidence or background at yesterday’s #maternitypetition debate with your poor pre-written response so why should we care about yours 🤷🏼♀️
@RishiSunak New Mothers, Parents & Babies on Maternity Leave, 2019-2020 need help now! After 6 months of ZERO SUPPORT! No Postpartum Care or HV! No Childcare. Forced into unpaid Leave! Denied Furlough, CJRS, UC & SSP due to gatekeepers & calculations! #maternitypetition#ExcludedUK#PMQ
One of the main messages of concern I'm hearing over the #NorthEastLockdown is the lack of clarity regarding informal childcare.
I've written to @MattHancock as a matter of urgency to seek clarity & ask that he makes provision for informal childcare arrangements.
I sit and look at my boy, he’s missed out on SO much, and still continues to do so! It honestly breaks my heart! 9 precious days old when lockdown began, yet we still cannot access vital support despite ‘most’ things opening up @BorisJohnson do the right thing! #maternitypetition
Absolutely disgusting that in this day and age women are still being treated so unfairly! We are raising the next generation yet we are being mistreated! Sex discrimination at its finest @BorisJohnson#maternitypetition
