Stanley Kubrick used to call Stephen King at 3 a.m. while adapting ‘THE SHINING’, asking personal questions.
One of the most famous exchanges:
Kubrick: “Do you believe in God?”
King: “Yes.”
Kubrick: “I knew it!” [slams phone down]
@LordGrimdark People would keep on reading your stuff! I'm late to the party but have just started listening to The Blade Itself on audible. The narrator is great, especially for Glokta, I find.
@AllyMalinenko I feel like this has been a cycle 😏😝😝 I'm always glad to see you keep coming back to the same conclusion, which is that you are capable ☺️ keep going!
@AllyMalinenko AI stories and the people that make them are jokes. If one wants to write a novel, you toil and toil. Then you toil some more. It's not easy, but hell, once you start to get the hang of it, perfecting a story is the best experience one could ask for.
@S_R_Hamilton_ Try not to overthink. Writing stories is hard and requires patience. Take a step back, gain clarity.
The best writers are just muddling along as good as they can. You're doing great. I would keep plodding on. You never know what random thoughts might lead to a new subplot/scene.
