Urgent issue requiring immediate international attention.
The Chinese Communist Party is pressuring Thailand to deport and forcibly repatriate 43 Uyghur refugees, currently detained in Thailand, to China. If the Thai government forces them back to China, these innocent people face torture, ethnic cleansing, or death in forced labor camps. We are hoping Thailand will live up to their obligations under the Convention Against Torture, which they ratified, and which prohibits the return of people to countries where they face torture.
I am respectfully calling on the Thai government to immediately halt this unconscionable deportation and turn these refugees over to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees.

"Potemkin Tours of the Uyghur Genocide Zone Are Never Okay!" Signed by 20 Uyghur Organizations demanding that @CBSNews@CBS answer for this irresponsible report.
The President of the Uyghur American Association raised strong concerns about Uyghur forced labor in supply chains during the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights in Geneva.

As Xi lands, we are at SFO with Tursunay, a Uyghur concentration camp survivor. We Tibetans, Uyghurs, HKers, Taiwanese, and Chinese dissidents who are standing up against paid Chinese counter protestors.
The genocidal creature:
“Break their (Uyghurs’) lineage, break their roots, break their connections, and break their origins”

Mr. @elonmusk- The Uyghur American community is deeply disturbed by your comments about China's repression of Uyghur people, described in @WalterIsaacson ‘s book. We genuinely hope you made those comments out of your ignorance about the situation, because we don't believe any well-educated, normal human being would make such comment about genocide and crimes against humanity that is currently taking place. We would like to educate you about the #UyghurGenocide.
1. Since the ancient times, Uyghurs have been living in their own homeland, speaking their own language, practicing the religion they chose, and following the traditions of their forefathers.
2. China INVADED the Uyghur homeland, named it Xinjiang (means New Territory), and supposedly “granted” “autonomy,” promising Uyghurs the right to practice their religion and culture.
3. Shortly after, the Chinese communist regime reneged on its own promise and started to severely restrict Uyghurs’ right to their religion and culture. It even banned the Uyghur language from schools and prohibited Uyghurs from practicing their religion.
4. Starting in 2014, the genocidal dictator Xi Jinping embarked on a genocidal campaign against Uyghurs deciding that the Uyghurs’ existence in their own homeland as a distinct ethnic group different from the majority Han Chinese are a “national security threat” to China.
5. The Chinese communist regime set up concentration camps herding millions of Uyghurs into the camps, where they were brainwashed, tortured, killed, raped, forcibly sterilized, and were subjected to forced labor. China’s aim is to kill as many Uyghurs as it can get away with under the watch of the international community and then coerce the rest of the population into becoming Xi’s version of Chinese.
6. Uyghurs have been unable to defend themselves. On one side is the world’s largest security force and the second powerful military; and on the other side are totally defenseless and innocent Uyghurs who cannot even own kitchen knives without the permission of the CCP and only if their knives are chained to the wall.
@elonmusk , we sincerely ask you a simple question: If the fully-armed state security forces come into your house where you possess no weapon to defend yourself; tie you to the wall; take away all of your money and properties; brutally attack your wife, children, and even your unborn children; then harvest your organs for the use of a retired former government official… And wealthy guy ten thousands miles away hear about your story and make a comment like “the attack story has two sides,” how would you feel?
We really hope you remember that:
This country, the United States of America, to which you pledge loyalty as American, was founded by people who sacrificed their lives and wealth for freedom, NOT by people who sacrificed their freedom for short-term profits.
@joshrogin , @MattGertz
When China’s main agenda is eradicating our culture, it becomes our agenda to preserve it.
Uyghur Americans welcomed the new year with hope and determination to keep our identity alive.
Hey @elonmusk, why can Chinese authorities use Twitter when it’s a crime for Chinese citizens?
If Chinese citizens are getting punished for using Twitter, You should ban Chinese officials from Twitter. #TwitterForChina
#Kazaksitan betrayed its promise to stand for human rights and international law, betrayed brotherhood of Turkic world , betrayed its identity of a Muslim nation ;
It basically said : China !Go ahead and kill Uyghurs! @USembassyKAZ@kazinform_chn@MFA_KZ@TokayevKZ@KZAmbUS
I really think we need to qualify interpretations about Xi vs. Li. Even domestically, the Chinese leadership can tweak messages for different audiences.
Here, having Xi show a different focus vs Li, who speaks to a very targeted foreign audience, is not unexpected. That is
Leaked #Xinjiang/#China police documents reveal thousands of photos of survivors and details of life inside the concentration camps, including a police shoot to kill policy for those trying to escape.
