On behalf of the government and people of South Africa, I offer warm congratulations to His Excellency President @PaulKagame and the government and people of Rwanda on securing a 10-year agreement to host the Formula 1 African Grand Prix.
South Africa shares in the pride with which Rwanda is preparing to fly the chequered flag for our continent with the hosting of a globally prestigious event at the planned Bugesera circuit from the early 2030s.
This contract is a recognition of the capabilities of the Rwandan nation and of our continent more broadly.
As host of the first Grand Prix on African soil in 1993, and organiser of other major global events, South Africa will be happy to provide any support we may be invited to share.
The F1 African Grand Prix is another lustrous addition to Rwanda’s growing collection of top international events, including the UCI-classified Tour du Rwanda cycling race.
Congratulations, Rwanda.
You are in pole position to make all of Africa proud and take motorsport to new heights.
President Kagame has arrived in Washington, D.C., where he will meet with President Donald Trump @realDonaldTrump and join the signing of the Washington Accord.
Goma, RDC.
RWANDA SUSPENDS DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION WITH BELGIUM
There is no longer a sound basis for development cooperation with Belgium. Accordingly, Rwanda is suspending the remainder of the 2024-2029 bilateral aid program with Belgium.

Rwandans have once more chosen the leader that we trust, need and deserve. Five more years of peace, progress and more prosperity for our country. It’s good to be Rwandan. ✊🏾

Today in London, President Kagame met with Prime Minister @RishiSunak at 10 Downing Street. They discussed the productive bilateral cooperation between the UK and Rwanda, including the impactful support provided in the aftermath of the Genocide against the Tutsi and over the last 30 years. The leaders also discussed the continued progress of the Migration and Economic Development Partnership.
This morning at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame met with former President Bill Clinton of the United States of America, who led the Presidential Delegation designated by President @JoeBiden to attend the 30th Commemoration of the Genocide Against the Tutsi.
They had candid and fruitful discussions on the country's transformation over the last 30 years and the importance of strengthening mutually respectful bilateral relations. They also discussed regional security issues and agreed on the need for a political solution that addresses the root causes of the conflict in Eastern DRC, which affects the whole and wider region.
#Kwibuka30

Historic milestone today as the first @BioNTech_Group BioNTainers arrived in Rwanda, exactly 3 years since the first case of Covid-19 was detected in our country. This system will allow end-to-end mRNA vaccine production in Africa for the first time.
I got a chance to learn from 200 Professionals in different African countries and discussed with Assistant Secretary of The US State Department @AsstSecStateAF to understand the ongoing collaboration between US and Africa. #collaboration#Peace#Rwanda
Congratulations to all the organisers, the security forces who kept everyone safe, the staff across all venues and all Rwandans who contributed to the success of #CHOGM2022! Thank you immensely for doing the country proud!
‘Kwibuka’ means to ‘remember’.
We stand together with Rwanda to mark the 28th commemoration of the genocide against the Tutsi.
Remember. Unite. Renew.
