MY OPEN LETTER TO THE OWEKITIBWA LEADER OF OPPOSITION AND THE ENTIRE MPs OF THE NATIONAL UNITY PLATFORM
Dear Hon. @JoelSsenyonyi
I am writing to you on behalf of many concerned Ugandans who feel deeply disappointed and betrayed by the recent position taken by the opposition.
During the election period, our party the @NUP_Ug strongly and publicly declared that the 2026 elections were not free and fair, but a rigged process and a military operation rather than a genuine democratic exercise. Many Ugandans stood with you and believed in your principled stance against the irregularities.
However, it is now clear that you have accepted the outcome and agreed to take the position of Leader of Opposition, effectively recognizing President Museveni as the legitimate winner. This sudden change of position has left a large section of the population feeling abandoned and demoralized.
We want to make our position very clear: the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners must now be your number one priority. These are our brothers and sisters who have been detained for exercising their political rights. Their freedom cannot be negotiable or pushed to the back burner while you settle into parliamentary roles.
We therefore give you and the opposition leadership an ultimatum of two (2) months from today to secure the release of all political prisoners. If this is not achieved within this period, many of us will have no choice but to conclude that the opposition no longer represents the will and aspirations of the suffering Ugandan people.
We expect decisive leadership and action on this matter. The people are watching.

Today marks 5 years since our leader Bobi Wine raised the @NUP_Ug UMBRELLA for the first time. Since then, we have never looked back. It's been a journey of so many trials and tribulations but the freedom train continues moving. May we never falter in this journey, and may God hasten our victory.

Exactly 5 years ago today, we unveiled the National Unity Platform (NUP) and its new leadership to the Country. We were at our small but cozy headquarters then at Kamwokya, not too sure of what the future held, but our hopes were high...and so we set off.
The 5 years have been rough and tumble, but they have also seen us do some exploits.
Some thought we would not last a year, others even dismissed us completely ab initio, but by God's grace we are here today, and we continue to press on.
I believe the best days of NUP are not behind us, but ahead of us.
Let us keep on keeping on!
Our party leadership is in Fort Portal today, engaging with key leaders and strengthening our political structures at the grassroots. Every voice counts. Every region mattersโ๐ฟ
I captured this video from Masaka on 18th.May.2025,every time any of @HEBobiwine โs bodyguards get abducted and added on that Masaka case I go back and watch this video to look closely to see where they attacked the victims but I have failed to trace any.
We had the option of simply procuring a political party, like others have done, but we said no. Thereโs no way Dr. Kizza Besigye can lead a group that buys a briefcase political party. We chose to register our own and see who tries to block us- Hon Ssemujju Nganda, PFF Spokesperson
